Nursing? Is it a good field?

I want a career that I can A) Be able too move anywhere in the country and still be able too find work, B) Never have too worry about it going away (Tech jobs that are all downsizing), and will pay decent. Is Nursing a good field? Also if anyone knows what is the average starting salary for an R.N?

PERFECT!!! I'm the son of a traveling nurse (mother). Nursing is one of the most indemand jobs in the world, not only is it in demand it will NEVER go away. WWIII breaks out, they are still going to need a nurse, if the Great Depression hits again, you will still have a job. After you get about a year of experience, you can be a traveler. Agencies will pay your travel, your House etc.. usually contracts are 13 weeks then you can move on. You can find jobs literally all over America. My mother bounces everywhere, like little mini-vacation except having to work and the pay is good. Starting out I would bank on making 50-60k a year (at least). My mother makes around 100k a year, thats with alot of overtime. If you want to step into six figures get extra certificates like your ALCS and work in ICU. Nursing has it's ups but it has it's downs, you need a soft and light heart and a STRONG stomach.

Starting pay is aboout 50K. You can travel but keepin mind being registered means your registered to practive in that state to practice at another state you must go thru paperwrk and possibly re-testing. I love it!!!
