Cost of living in singapore?

what is the cost of living for singles who work in Singapore =)? how much is the minimum wage in Singapore? what is the average salary of healthcare professionals (eg nurses, medical technologists) in Singapore? thanks =)

Hmm I'd say the minimum wage is about around $1200-$1800 a month for the average Singaporean. For highly qualified individuals, including nurses, I would say it's definitely above $2000 or even much more. From what I know, doctors' wages start from $4000, and it goes up, depending on which hospital the doctor is working in and whether he/she is a specialist. I've been living my whole life here and I would say the cost of living here is not as high as in other cities such as Tokyo or London. I've been to Tokyo, and a decent meal there would cost me about maybe double the price here. So to me Singapore's cost of living isn't that bad because you still can find cheap food and cheap stuff in places such as the heartlands. Except, of course the high-end retail shops in Orchard Road and all.=) And about living in a high-rise, that's cos Singapore is a land-scarce country so most Singaporeans live in a high-rise flat, or most commonly known here as a HDB flat. That's the place average Singaporeans like me call home! =)

Singapore is one of the most expensive places on earth to live. There is no minimum wage. Nurses and medical technologists make enough to survive, but not to be very comfortable. Be prepared to live in a high rise, and to eat local food in a hawker centre, which is the only cheap thing in Singapore.

it depends on a lot of things...

firstly, housing -- if you are renting a room, that's easily $300-500. an hdb flat rents between $800 and $1200. if you are renting a condo, that will be in the range of $1300+

prices depend on location

secondly, minimum wage -- it depends on the company you are working for. also on the type of employment pass/work permit you will get. there's no minimum wage actually but the type of pass will indicate the salary brackets, ie:

s-pass -- S$1000 plus
employment pass q1 -- S$2501-3,500
employment pass p2 -- S$3,501-7,000
employment pass p1 -- S$7,000+

if your employer offered you something, it will be within these brackets...

thirdly, healthcare professionals -- i am not sure for a med tech but nurses are one of the lowest paid.... salary scales are really hard to get here, but ask any foreign healthcare professional, they'd be really lucky to get a pay of S$2000.

actually singapore is one of the most expensive place so the living is very high there the food we eat is not cheap .

very expensive

aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhh

I found singapore living standard not very high compare to other major cities . but do take note that the salary for a normal working class here is also lower compare to the other cities .

cheap

pleasssseeeeeee

very headache
