What is the starting salary of a physical therapist assistant? |
. i want to know how much they get paid and is it good money. and are they always in demand. i was thinking about this as a career. that i could do for right now instead of doing the whole university thing. i was also thinking about nursing but i heard it was very stressful especially dealing with kids. and also the fact that so many diseases are going around. so if anybody knows anything about nursing or physical therapy plz give me some insight. im a patient care technician at a local hospital in charleston, sc. pta's make a great living(around $30.00/ hour in my region). the perks are great too. they have flexible schedules and are always in demand. you can work at a private practice, high scools and colleges, hospitals, nursing homes etc. this job, like all medical careers are economy proof and in high demand. im in school right now for pta and will get my degree in six months. nursing is much more demanding and a lot less glamourous. good luck The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career.
