Social Work salary?

In the mid-west, where do social workers get paid the most.....hospitals, nursing homes, DFS????

As a general rule, non-profits and government jobs pay LOWEST and for-profits like hospitals and nursing homes pay quite well.

I make 38K in a non-profit while my for-profit nursing home counterparts pull in 80K, but that's a lot, even for a for-profit.

This job at 38k is the first job I got after graduation because I got a masters in social work with a concentration in something really unique. Had I not, I might could expect the lower 30's to start. (I'm in Texas, by the way).

You'll find a niche in social work and become financially comfortable. Everyone does.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
