Is anyone a nurse over in Europe or know of a nurse over there (not U.S. military)?

If so I wanted to ask some questions about moving over there to be a nurse, I am American and was wondering about transferring my liscense, what the salary is like, what job outlooks are like and so on... if you could post on here or email me would be better tsbarbre@yahoo.com

thanks!

I now speak of the situation of the Scandinavian countries only. Nurses are very much needed in Scandinavia. Especially the nurses in Norway have good salaries, on the other hand the country is very expensive. The other countries, Denmark, Sweden and Finland need good nurses. About the situation in Iceland I don麓t know anything, but I do believe they need good nurses over there too.

I don麓t think you would have any problems with the working permit. There is one problem though, you have to know the language of the country you are planning to move to.
So why not start to check which country you think is best and then start to study the language.

Good luck!

First off, what reasons do you need to be there? If you do not have a job lined up, (speak the language a must!) then your chances are as good as dead. You must have a workpermit and residence permit. The residence permit you get when you have a place to live. You register at the City Hall. You get the work permit when you have a job that needs you more than it needs a local person. (This is also at the City Hall, in which you bring all permits and proofs) As if you are replaceable for a citizen of that country, guess who they would rather hire than have them collect unemployment.
What they do not want is another immigrant who is going to end up on the public dole. So you are going to have to prove that you are able to work and sustain yourself.
Almost forgot. Your licenses will have to be transferred through an agency that specializes with comparing one countries credentials to their own (translated). So if yours is not up to par, you might be taking a few classes to get it there. Otherwise, if it is ok, you might just have to pay a few fees to get your certificates.
