In what US state has the biggest salary and most benefits for nurses? |
In what US state has the biggest salary and most benefits for nurses? You asked for the US state - that would be Alaska. Due to the shortage and also the challenges posed by the terrain and climate - Nurses who relocate to rural Alaska are offered many great incentives including housing stipends/relocation, student loan forgiveness, etc. I understand they ask for a 2 year commitment for some of the perks to kick in. The work is tough - bobsledding to certain locations, etc. You work with indigenous tribes who are differant from your regular patients. But, I know a woman who did it and she thought it was a great adventure and has many great stories to tell. I'm not sure if the program she worked under was the one in the link below but I bet they know all the nurse incentive programs for Alaska.... Depends on the specialty. However, from what I found at the sources below, a travel nurse position seems to have the largest salary and benefits. |
