Can nurse make a 6 figures salary? |
I just wanted to know if nurse can make a 6 figures salary....And also is nursing a dirty job? prop4u has accurate info. Staff nurses (RNs) at a hospital can make six figures if they want to here in California. A typical new grad salary here is about $65k without differentials for 3 12 hr shifts a week. Some of my coworkers work full time and per diem or part time somewhere else. Or if you do travel nursing the free benefits and housing allowances can make the salary worth much more. But for sure the Nurse Administrators, Nurse Practitioners (NP), Nurse Midwives (CNM) and Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) can easily make six figures. Yes, definitely to both questions if you mean a lot of work, responsibility, pressure, etc. It is possible, but not likely. I am sure the nurse who is the head of nursing at the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkin's might, otherwise no way. Nursing isn't a dirty job, overall. CNA's do most of the really dirty stuff like rear wiping and stuff. LPN's hand out the meds. And our RN's give the shots. However, this is in a psychiatric setting. i dont think so unless they work with a wealthy cripple old man / Depends on the area of nursing. For example, a nurse anesthetist could easily make six figures. However, that obviously requires a MSN. As for a dirty job, it really depends on your area of nursing as well. Typically a Nurse's Earnings Vary from state to state Ect.. Yes a nurse can make 6 figures. I've talked to traveling nurses that make over $80k plus paid housing in CA. There are also other homecare nurses that can make make 6 figures. Usually by contracting themselves out. Nurses do very well... a registered nurse in California, in a 200 bed facility makes an average of 79,400 after 5 years on the job... And most work 3- 12 hour shifts... so that's basically working 3 days a week for a 36 hour work week... There are specialty Nursing occupations... for example... an anesthesiologist nurse can make upwards of $120,000 a year |
