Can you tell me a little bit about these medical fields?

I would just like to know HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE IN EACH OF THESE to be certified? Which of these would most likely be a better choice to go with? (I really wouldn't mind doing any of these.) and if you are any of these would you mind telling me how much yearly you make? (I don't mean to be nosey, I just trust peoples words more than "Statistics")
Thanks ya'll!

1.)Regesterd Nurse
2.) Certified Nurse Anesthetist
3.)Chief Nurse Anesthetist
4.)Certified Nurse Midwife
5.) Nursing Director

There are three levels of entry to practice for RNs, they are associate degree (ADN), diploma, and bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). The ADN takes 2 years following completion of the prerequisite courses which on average takes 1/2 to 1 year, so a total of 2.5 to 3 years. The Diploma programs are 1/2 to 1 year of prerequisites and 3 years of nursing program for a 4 year program. The BSN RN programs are scheduled as a 4 year program, though some students will stretch it into 5 years. I am not working in the capacity as an RN but the RNs in my area make $25 per hour to start at the hospital closest to me. Most of them actually average between $59,000 and $70,000 dependent on their shift, degree and specialty differentials.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist are RNs who have completed a BSN or an ADN with a BS in another science. Then they work for usually 2 years in an intensive care type setting. After the clinical experience as an RN they go to a Graduate school program wich gives them an MSN as a Nurse Anesthetist. The CRNA program in this city is 28 months in length. The CRNA who works with our group averages a little over $200,000 per year, but this can vary dependent on the number of cases performed.

Chief Nurse Anesthetist, this is a CRNA who is incharge of a group of other CRNAs in usually a hospital setting. There is no additional education for this position.

Nursing Director. This title is too ambiguous to be exact. There are nursing directors at some small nursing homes, who might have an ADN, diploma or BSN degree. The salary would vary widely dependent on the size of the facility.

This might even be construed as meaning the Nurse Executive, or Director of Nursing Services. This person may have any degree, but will usually have at least a BSN. for most small to medium size facilities they will have at least a master's degree in nursing or hospital administration or an MBA. In some cases, especially in large health care organizations and hospital systems, this person might have a doctoral degree.

I don't work in the nursing field though here is a website for more general info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search 'registered nurse' or 'nurse midwife' or such. Wikipedia may also have more info albeit not for professional or school research: http://www.wikipedia.org and search 'certified registered nurse anesthetist' or such. The The CRNA generally makes more money than the nurse working with 'just' a RN degree on a nursing unit at a hospital.
