Are nurse anesthetists required to perform blood transfusions?

As a Jehovah's Witness performing blood transfusions would violate my moral standards, so im wondering if anyone out there has an answer to my question.Thank you for your time.

Any nurse is required to do blood transfusions( except an lpn)

Medical professionals (including CRNAs) have an obligation to see that their patients are cared for.

If you have a moral objection to transfusions, you are obliged to get someone else to perform the transfusion so that the patient receives the care they need.

A CRNA who is a Witness and will not administer a transfusion may find their professional opportunities limited.

From an employer's standpoint, why should such a CRNA be hired? Unless they only work in outpatient surgical centers (that don't transfuse blood), you're paying someone good money to do only part of their job.

This isn't meant to criticize your beliefs. Also, it isn't discrimination. It would be a waste of time & money to have such a CRNA working in routine surgical cases where blood may be needed.
