*Home>>>Nurse anesthetist

I have a masters in Public Relations but I will like to become a Nurse Anesthetist. What is the best way.?

I am looking for the shortest possible time and least expensive way to achieve this goal.

Unfortunately most CRNA schools require that you have AT LEAST 1 year experience in critical care (ICU/ER/OR/PACU) before they will accept you into the program. A lot of schools have a one-year accelerated B.S.N. program now for people who have their Bachelor's degree in another field. You will still have to meet the Required Prerequisites, but it only take 15 months or so to get your B.S.N.

**a general idea of the required prerequisites (62 credit hours American History or Government (3) Anatomy & Physiology I & II (8)* College Algebra (3) Economics (3)* English Composition (3) English Composition (3) General Psychology (3) Social Science Elective (3) Human Growth & Development (3)* Chemistry (4)* Humanities (6)- 2 classes Philosophy elective (3)* nterpersonal Communication (3)* Microbiology (3)* Human Nutrition (3)* Statistics (3)*)

If you have taken, or feel like you don't need to take the class because you already know the info you can always save some time and money by take a CLEP exam and "testing out."

After that, sign on at a hospital in an ICU and in a year try to get into a program. I included links below for my local accelerated program at UMSL. Also the link for CLEP exams is listed.

Good luck!

Go to a nursing school.
