How much does an Average Medical assitant (or nurse) Make an hour?

Im thinking about becoming a medical assistant. Im 15 and i have to start thinking about my career. I hear the Medical feild is growing and i see it all the time on Tv. Im sure medical teams make alot but on average how much do they make? Also how many years in colledge do you have to take and how much would it cost? Thanks

Id really probably want to be a Medical assistant. I cant really see the sight of blood so a nurse would probably have to prick needles and i cant do that. Grosses me out.

This varies greatly from one area of the country to another and from job to job - and by that I mean a hospital nurse will usually make more money than one in a doctor's office. The biggest money is in travel nursing, if you are able to go on 3 and 6 month contracts at a time. With that, you work for a travel nursing company and they put you up in an apartment or condo near the hospital where your contract is - at their expense.

A medical assistant will make considerably less than a nurse, so if you are planning on starting classes for one or the other, go with nursing. And be an RN (Registered Nurse), not an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). RN's make a lot more.

College - 4 years, Bachelor's Degree. There are some 2 year programs at some schools, but you would do better with the 4 year.

Just today, I heard an advertisment on a Mobile, Alabama radio station for a travel company paying experienced RN's $47.50 per hour - if that helps you any.
