Difference between CNA and CMA?

What is the difference between a Certified Medical Assistant and a Certified Nurses Aide?

Actually, there is in California at least, a certifying exam for MAs. They can work without it, but there is one and they then can say they are certified.

To answer your question however, CNAs tend to work under nurses (so in nursing homes, hospitals) and do things like bed baths, make beds, take vitals, walk patients, basic things to free up the nurse. MAs tend to work more with the MDs in offices usually and they can give medications, shots, vaccinations, vitals, lab tests, draw blood, assist with exams, but pts in rooms, do bandaging, wound care, discharge instructions etc and front office duties. etc.

A Certified Nursing Assistant has completed a state-approved program, taken a state exam, and has received license from the state.

There is NO SUCH THING is a Certified Medical Assistant...that is a designation given by the school, and it NOT recognized by the state...it is a meaningless degree and the biggest scam going in education right now.
