How much an hour should care assistants be paid!!!?

i am a care assistant working in southampton in a nursing home and i only get paid 拢6.15 an hour i work 12 hour shifts
8am-8pm and i dont get paid my hour lunch i feel that i should get paid more. i have looked at other care jobs and the hourly rate is mostly 拢7 plus an hour and i feel that for what i do in my job i aswel as others should get paid more.

what does others think about how carers are paid!!!

i also have an A level in health and social care which when i started my job got told that what i get paid wuld be a starting point and after 3 months on trial it would be reviewed i have now been there 8 months and still awaiting my review!!

You need to bite the bullet and ask about this. If they told you you would get a payrise then you should get one and if they don't you may be better off looking for something else

some of us carers are on min wage!! ask them and move on if need be!
