Which is better working for Assistant Living or Skilled nursing Assisted living will probably give you more responsibility than skilled nursing, however home health is good. It really depnds on what you like. Assited living requires less lifting and heavy care. It generally is more laid back. I did some shadowing/clinical work in an assited living facility and it was very nice. You have more people assigned to you, but they don't need as much care. If you work on an Alzheimers unit, it may be more like a nursing home. You would probably be supervising people taking thier medications and there wouldn't be as many nurses. In that way you would have more responsibility. The residents do not generally have serious health problems. If they do, they will be going to a different facility soon. |
