Back and work trouble help pls?

I work as a care assistant in a nursing home a resident had a fall but no insured so me and another carer were helping her up when she nearly toppled but as i was at the back bearing most of the weight i managed to stop her falling again but hurt my back in the process. The manager has so far been nice about the incident. I have been to see doc today and have been prescribed co codamol diazepam and diclofenac and the doc told me to self cert my self for 1 week and then ring up next week for my doctors note but was a bit vague on the length of time i am worried as as a general rule there is no pay whilst sick except the government one but after reading the employee handbook it does say that in cases of accidents i may be entitled to full pay whilst sick. But again it was very vague im only 22 and i am not sure how to raise this with my manager. And would like to know what is wrong with me exactly for me to be prscribed this cocktail of drugs and how long will it take to heal thank you

I have filled the accident report in thank you.

go to a chiropractor its the best thing to do trust me 拢60 and the pain is gone they're really good and afterwards they give you exercises to do to strengthen your back up again its better than relying on pain killers that don't do anything for the back to heal because when the painkillers wear off the pain is still their i hope this has helped you

Your back will take as long as it takes to heal as you are healthy. There's no rule there. Alternate ice and heat therapy every day for 15 minutes each. At some point you're going to have to start exercises to strengthen you muscles. If the injury is severe enough you will have exacerbations in the future. Lose weight.

Make sure you fill in an accident report this should cover you for any lost earnings as it seems you have a witness. Contact a union representative if you have one. Also ring your local DSS the we'll give you all the information you require. Back injuries can last a couple of weeks or a couple of months.
Hope you get well soon.
