Can you help dress a cv?

I want to find a new job. My intrest is in IT and I figure I can work my way Up from first line support. My current job is as an auxiliary nurse ( health care assistant) I do not want to be a nurse and I figure I am a lot better then the role I'm currently in on 拢6.75 per hour.

How do I go about dressing up a cv without lying. And how can I get into first line support

Thank you sniffles that is very positive and enlightening

A good health care assistant is like gold and if you were to take more interest, be dedicated to what you are doing now and even study though you may not want to be a nurse, you may find that you are best suited to what you are doing now.

Even so, it does no harm to decide what other kinds of employment may be worth pursuing. Lying though about non-existent skills will only back-fire and you will be in a worse situation than you are right now.

Jot down on a piece of paper those jobs you would be interested in and those you would not. Jot down your strengths and weaknesses - personality and character this kind of thing. Note your existing educational qualifications and see if they are suitable for the kind of employment you want. When you have put this together, seek advice from either your local college or employment agency. Job Centres are a waste of time so seek out those people who know what they are talking about.

If you still wish to go into IT, find out anything and everything you can from various companies in your locality that do this kind of thing. See what skills you do need to have, whether you need qualifications and if so what. See if they have any vacancies for a junior member of staff who wants to learn, who is prepared to work hard, who does not watch the clock or is just interested in their salary. In other words, you need to prove to them you are worthy of your salary and learn anything and everything so that you can move up the ladder.

Good hunting!

The best way is to get into first line support, do you have your degree? check out some options there and equip yourself with knowledge the rest will come University of Phoenix has some good health care programs non-nursing and nursing good luck

If you have no real experience in IT, then "dressing up" your CV won't be able to hide that.

Don't bother pretending you have IT experience...focus on the relevant skills you already have...

A quick google showed up the following in a 1st line job description...
# Problem diagnosis and accurate capture of problem
# Basic troubleshooting of all problems
# Answering of all How do I questions

And I suspect it very much mirrors what you are doing now... talking to people to understand their problems, accuracy, asking the right questions, dealing with the easy stuff, and knowing when to escalate up the line

What you need is professional help, but first you need to enrol on a course to get the qualifications you will need. Nurses are undervalued but are a vital to the whole nation, so please think very carefully.
