How much is a housewife/husband worth monetarily? Keep in mind the services others get paid for!?

Such as Laundry, nursing, cooking, personal assistant type chores (making appointments, etc.)

No, I'm not kidding! just feeling devalued! My husband only thinks about money brought in...but when I'm working outside the home doesn't want to pick up the slack either. By the way, I've been doing all the household stuff with a broken/damaged wrist for the past 4 months.

I pulled this on my hubby a few months ago, gave him a "Bill" for services rendered.......It was, based on minamum wage in this state (La.), close to $1,300,000, if I remember correctly. That included charges for "Miscellaneous services rendered".....LOL
Plus being doctor, nurse, banker, personal assistant, laundress, housekeeper etc....

Let me guess, you work 8hrs a day, go to grocery store, go get kids from daycare, go home, cook, clean, yadda ya...he comes home and 1)locks himself in his room, or 2)sits in front of TV until dinner is ready. Either way, DOES NOTHING! No help with kids OR house-hold chores. He's probably abusive too..physically or verbally, its still abuse. And let me tell you, the verbal abuse leaves more scars than physical. Wont let you spend any extra money on lunch or clothes or shoes. And you can forget going out and getting your nails done or spending more than $10 on a purse at WalMart. And you can sure as hell forget your friends...what friends?

LEAVE! been there, done that. Ex was a controlling a$$ and I grew out of that stage. I have 3 young children. (at the time 8b,4g,2b) Was scared to death I wouldn't be able to do it without him...until one day I woke up and realized I already was. I left him. And 3yrs later I can say it was the best move I could make. For myself and for the kids. Its been hard. But its still better than what it was. Its amazing what you can accomplish when hes not standing there saying YOU CANT. Better job. Better life.

And if you feel this way, imagine how your kids feel...and they think its normal...If you dont have kids, it will be that much easier to leave.

That's not the type of thing that a monetary value can be put on unless there is a divorce coming up. A good spouse is priceless.

I once heard something like $200,000 per year for a housewife. I"m sure househusbands would get less because they obviously do less.
