Nurse question????

Hi, I want to be a nurse or assistant (Office work/Receptionist) for a maternity doctors office. I was wondering what those types of nurses are called and where I could get info. on the job titles. Thanks!

The ladies in the front office are not nurses, they are the office staff, usually most of them do not have degrees. The "nurse" that comes into the exam room with the Dr. in the OB office is usually a Medical Assistant, "MA" the person who does your vital signs and charts in your chart when you get to the office is usually an LPN, there are some RN's in Dr's offices, but usually more LPN's.

a nurse is a nurse in any job....2yr degree or 4 yr....go to your local community college website and see what they offer. be sure you like all sorts of bodily fluids because that is a major part of nursing, suctioning mucous, cleaning bottoms and changing sheets and emptying emesis (vomit) basins.
