What city can you move to in florida and not have to worry about storms and hurricanes?

i want to leave michigan and move to florida but i dont know anything about the state. i am a certified nurse assistant and want to know if they pay good out there for that.

Well I live in Orlando, and so far no bad weather has hit us here. As for the pay for nurses I am pretty sure it's pretty good and fair. I have a friend who nurses in Fort Myers and does well (only 3 years of experience). Check California, I heard they pay great for nurses, a few of my Canadian friends live there on terms of 3-6 months for 40$ an hour! Good luck, and I moved here from Canada 3 years ago and love it!!!

not florida

there are tropical depressions and hurricanes in the caribbean each year, and storms of varying intensity hit florida

try arizona - no tropical storms there - just wall to wall sunshine...

You should be safe from being directly impacted by a hurricane if you're about a hundred miles from the coast (but remember there are two coasts in Florida, Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic coast). But you're not going to be able to get away from the storms no matter where you live there. Hurricanes have a bad habit of spawning severe thunderstorms and tornadoes all over the state and surrounding states.

You can't. But you come from Michigan, which can get some fierce snowstorms and other bad weather. You will probably be better off in Florida, weatherwise, than where you are now.

Orlando is the biggest and probably the "safest" for hurricanes. Once they reach us they have lost strength and surprisingly, aside from a recent year, the hurricanes always seem to miss us. *fingers crossed* :)

Orlando is very safe for hurricanes. its inland, has many facilities for hurricane relief and there is a new medical park being built in east Orlando.
