How Do I Get Motivated Again To Loose Weight?

I'm having trouble getting myself motivated to loose this weight that that Dr. said I needed to loose.

I'm at a loss for ideas on how to get going again. There isn't the fire, or even a spark, that was there before when I lost 50 pounds in the 1980's. Unfortunately, I failed to keep it off when I left a highly active job of being a nursing assistant in a nursing home, to being a preschool teacher.

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas so far.

I've done the picture thing, but that didn't seem to help. And my family doesn't mock my weight, thankfully. A lot of my relatives are over weight, but not all.

I used to get teased and hurt badly in school, but lost the weight after I'd graduated. I guess after loosing it all that first time, and feeling fullfilled, I can't seem to find a reason to loose it now. I'm widowed, not interested in dating any more *which is one reason I lost the weight in the first place* and have stress dealing with an aggressive Autistic child.

I just can't seem to find anything to respark the want to do this.

Ask yourself what you would do first if you lost the weights successfully? For me, my motivation comes from my desire to change my wardrobe completely and put in clothes that i would like to wear when i am thin. Also, stop my friends and relatives from mocking and criticizing me that i look fat and ugly. Shock them and let them be jealous of my new slim figure. And most importantly, my health and attitudes towards life. When i lose weight to my goal weight, i would feel more confident to do many things. To conclude, its your health and attitude towards life that are the most important. Focus on these and wish you good luck!

I find that taking a picture of your self (full body) always works at a motivation esp. if you're at an unhealthy weight. Print the picture of yourself out and next to it have a pciture of what you used to look like or what you want to look like. There is a website called www.bodybuilding.com. Don't let the name fool you, it's for everyone men and women, whether they want to lose or gain. they have tons of articles on everything you need to know. They also have transformations of the week that are very inspiring to look at. Here is an article I pulled off there. 101 ways to motivate yourself:
