What is the difference between an Certified Nurses Assistant and a Certified Medical Assistant? |
What is the difference between an Certified Nurses Assistant and a Certified Medical Assistant? CNA's are often trained in a nursing home environment and it takes a few weeks verses CMA's have at least a year of school, much more expensive and does train for office skills as well, such as billing etc. Now they have LNA's which are licensed nurses aids. My daughter just finished that 14 week program, maybe longer including the clinical part, through the American Red Cross. I think she said that was $1200. Certified MA's around here is about $8000. In the long run, going to school to become a nurse is the best way. A CNA is an assistant to a nurse. They are certified to bathe, feed and assist residents/patients with their activities of daily living. |
