What does a certified nurses assistant do?

They assist nurses by doing the more basic tasks. They are basically the lowest on the Nurse Scale... it really has to do with the amount you can do with the levels being CNA's(Certified Nursing Assistant), LPN(Licensed practical Nurse), RN(Registered Nurse), NP(Nurse practitioner) there are also different levels between CNA and LPN but they are just different certifications so that you can do more things. CNA's are mostly limited to doing Blood pressures, pulses, temps, making beds, patient transfers, and ADL's(Activities of daily living) such as hygiene care and stuff like that.

All the work and get little pay or reconized for it walk patients make beds when patients are in the beds sometimes change diapers vital signs But to be honest it takes a very special type of person to do this job CAREING for people not the money

They take care of residents in nursing homes mostly. They bathe them, feed them, change their dirty diapers if they are incontient and pretty much take care of someone who has been neglected by family. Love them most of all!!

CNA's are mainly the lowest in the Nursing field. Common jobs that a CNA does are: changing breefs, making beds, feeding residents, taking vital signs, assisting residents (patients) with bathroom use, giving patients showers, helping the patients get dressed and ready for the day, take patients on short trips around the nursing facility, emptying catheter bags. Just to name a few. CNAs are not allowed to administer medication as well as preforming any invasive procedures such as starting IV's, or insserting a catheter.CNAs do the ugly work but dont get paid as well.
