What job that makes more money, satisfying job and close to nursing? Is it phlebotomy or medical assistant??

Being a medical assistant is much more rewarding. Phlebotomy is just sticking needles into peoples arms all day long.

I'm a certified phlebotomist and love my job. I am working while in nursing school so its perfect for me. I've also been a medical assistant but I just like phlebotomy as a job better. Its really up to you and your preferences. I wouldnt say medical assisting is more "rewarding"the phleb. it really depends on the person. I am not sure how much M.A's make a year when i was an M.A I made 12/hour at a doctors office, i work in a hospital lab now and make 16/hour as a phlebotomist, but i think it really depends where you are located. do some research and try out a few options and go with what you enjoy!

Also, investigate jobs in the radiology field. Cardiac ultrasound pays very very well.

I have just applied for a course for a Certificate IV in Pathology which will (if I am successful) see me as a qualified Phlebotomist at the end.
I believe that the hourly rate starts at $16 to $18 an hour (Australian) & increases with experience, shift work etc.
Nobody can tell you personally which will be more satisfying, only you will know that. I have no idea about the hourly rate for a medical assistant.
