What activities can I play in a nursing home with residents as an activity assistant.?

It is really difficult to offer suggestions without knowing more about the needs of the residents. Why not start by asking the residents and others who work there? Other workers may be able to tell you what the residents have enjoyed in the past. The residents themselves will most likely be able to tell you what they like and don't like. It will also depend, of course, on the physical and intellectual limitations of the residents.

Arts and crafts may be popular, or games such as bingo. In many seniors home we organize dances, family days, visits by pets, performances by local entertainers including clowns and singers, etc. With the upcoming holiday season activities that can produce small gifts for family members may be popular. But make no assumptions. It really depends on the personalities and skills and interests of the group. I hope this is of some help.

Bingo...maybe with holiday pictures or words, name that song, make some kind of holiday card, simple stretching exercises, make some kind of address/phone book with them and they write in addresses and numbers of friends .... once you get going your creativity will think of endless things..... good luck :)

bingo eye spy anything thats don't invole moving about , charades chineese whispers , the bingo would be fun if u only played for things like a packet of biscuits etc

Scharades, bingo, board games, darts, simon says, twister, etc...

Anything that deals with manipulatives and eye-hand coordination. BINGO, coloring, basic crafts (Gluing not cutting), cards, dominos (big ones).
