Nursing - Whats the difference between AIN (Assistant in nursing) and Undergraduate nursing?

Nursing - Whats the difference between AIN and Undergraduate nursing?
I am applying to work in a hospital as an undergraduate nurse, but would like to know what the difference is between these 2 in type of work, pay etc.
Thanx in advanced :)

I have never heard of a "AIN" but it sounds like a Nursing Assistant - which requires no college, no degree, and you are essentially working doing only patient cares like basic vital signs, toileting and bathing, etc.

A Registered Nurse requires either a 2 year associates degree or a 4 year undergrad - bachelor's degree in nursing. It's a totally different job where you have tons of legal responsibility and must have a vast knowledge of the sciences: biology, chemistry, anatomy, etc.

Sorry if I am wrong about the AIN thing, like I said, that is a term that is unfamiliar to me.

Are you talking about Canada's Undergraduate Nursing program?

In Australia, AIN (Aid In Nursing) or what you called Nursing Assistant.AIN and Undergraduate Nursing are basically the same job description, for example your basic tasks is attending patient's (hospital) or resident's (Nursing Home) needs such as Activities of Daily Living (showering, bed making etc.) and both pays the same amount, however once you reach your 3rd year Nursing course (studying RN in the University/Undergrad Nursing) you are allowed to do more in the hospital such as giving IV with an RN supervising you.
