I am 28 weeks pregnant and a nursing assistant. any suggestions how long i should work? |
I was just wondering what other's in the nursing field thought. Not looking for exact answer. Well I worked til the day I gave birth but every body is different that is up to you and your dr. but I would figure with the type of work you do probably around 8 months or so. Good Luck well if u think u should stop then u should. but i think that u can work untill u r do I was due in dec of 1999 with my 1st i quit my job in october so maybe a few months before your due I would think as long as you feel able to. You are the only one who knows how tired you get by the end of a day, or if you are having any sort of problems. This isn't a question that can be answered on an internet board, you should check with your doctor; as a nursing assistant you should know that. That's a question that's best for the doctor to answer. It depends on your type of pregnancy. If you are having a normal uncomplicated pregnancy then it's fine to work up till you feel comfortable to do so. It's really a matter of listening to your body's cues and how embarrassed you would be if your water was to break while working, or something along those lines. Your almost there to take your Glucose drink. Check for gestional diabetes..Cool! :) I work till my whole 40 weeks It is upto you. I worked till the delivery date. Listen to your body signs. It is good to stay active as long as you can manage a lot of women work until they go into laber its all up to you and your doctor and the baby. if your doing good then there shouldn't be any quetion onit but if your starting to have problems such as retanning lots of water and your doctor puts you on bed rest. As long as you feel physically able to do your job! If you start getting fatigued, swollen feet or anything out of the ordinary (physically) for you then it might be a good time to stop working. My wife is a PCA and just graduated nursing school. Yea..She had our third baby on Monday but was going to work up until the pregnancy. It really depends on your uterus. She will let you know when it's time to sit..It's not worth the risk of a few extra bucks to be in pain. Good Luck until your doctor puts you on bedrest. Well.....im 29 wks. and work as a receptionist.....just sitting down all day and my doctor said i can work till im ready to pop. |
