Any one a certified nursing assistant and is or was pregnant and worked through your whole pregnacy?

IM A CNA/LNA AND I BEEN TRYING FOR A BABY BUT WAS WONDERING IF ALOTA PEOPLE LIKE ME HAVE BEEN PREGNANT WHILE WORKING AS A CNA/LNA AND IF SO HOW LONG DID YOU WORK FOR BEFORE YOUR DOCTOR OR YOU CALLED IT QUITS?

i aslo work third shift which isnt to bad most of the people are sleeping and i work in a nursing home

I have never been pregnant, but I'm a CNA working in assisted living and have co-workers who have been pregnant while working. I think you just have to know your limits. Definitely don't transfer heavy people by yourself...always ask for help! Of course eventually you will have to quit because you won't be able to do a lot of things that the job requires. If you want to keep working, you can always find a less labor-intensive job. Also tell your doctor about your work situation.

Eventhough I wasn't pregnat at the time I have worked as a CNA, from personal experience there is way to much lifting involved to continue that kind of work when your expecting, If you work at a hospital see about changing to a different unit where there is alot less lifting envolved. most important when id doubt always consult with your doctor

i'm a patient transporter and am due in 3 weeks, i have been working this entire pregnancy up until 2 weeks ago. i was lifting/pushing patients, now i sit at a desk.

I worked as a CNA during my first pregnancy. I made it to 35 weeks and then went into preterm labor. Doc put me on bed-rest, and I had to take medication to stop the contractions. When I got to 37 weeks I was considered full-term so my doc let me go back to work. I was on a 10 lb. weight limit until my son was born so I couldn't lift any patients after I went back. I had to use a mechanical lift or get someone else to lift for me. They had me do alot of wheelchair pushing the last two weeks. Hope this helps!

i work for the military in a military prison and i'm 25 wks and still working. i'll be working up to one day before i'm due.

I wasn't a nurse while I was pregnant but i did work through out the whole time I was . It was one of the best things I could have done . It kept my mind off the normal worries of having a baby and it kept me fit . I had a much easier time giving birth . It was also a lot less stress full . Good luck to you .

I worked at a hospital (social services) up until the day before I went into labor. No problems. Both children were full term, good birth weight (10# 9) (9# 14). I exercised, followed my doc's orders, maintainted a good diet. Goood luck!

I worked as a Cna only for 3 months with my 1st pregnancy. I had problems with morning sickness and it made it too hard to work.
I also worked the night shift for over 6 years and there still are situations that arise where pulling, pushing, and lifting can arise. Be careful.
Many of the aides I worked with through their pregnancies, made it all the way through, but on modified, light-duty.
Talk to your Dr. and your director of nurses. You are in control of your body. If something hurts you, don't do it!
