Does a certified nursing assistant (CNA's) clean bottoms and other various bodily fluids? |
Need to know beforehand what this could entail. yes they do, they help with ADL's aka activities of daily living..some people cant shower or feed themselves or use the bathroom on their own, and need help. I was a CNA in highschool years ago. The first step I took to becoming a successful nurse practitioner. probably! If so, I gotta hire me one to help at home!!! Yes they do. That is why I am not a CNA anymore!! It is better to be a Medical Assistant :) yes they do Yes, they do. I had to clean bottoms, change diapers, empty colostomy bags and clean them--all the works. I wouldn't recommend you be one unless you're planning of continuing your nursing education to get either a LVN or RN license, but if you're not this is not a good way to make a living. Yes it does. Not as much as a RN, but it does if the RN needs you too. Well yes there are body fluids to deal with, sheets and linens that are 'messed' in. Sorry, if you can't handle it (I know I couldn't) I would look into something else. Besides which the people that work as cna's don't get paid nearly enough for the job they do. Yes. They do a lot of the gross menial jobs the nurses don't have time for because the nurses have too much paperwork these days. Yep. CNA's do all the grunt work, which would mean cleaning, feeding and caring for the patient. Also changing soiled sheets (which includes scraping off and cleaning off poo)...emptying bedpans and catheter bags and light cleaning of the room as well. No For Sure...!! Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patient. Functions include, but are not limited to, dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, taking vital signs, oral care, nail care, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting patients in wheel chairs, transporting, turning bedridden patients, reporting patient changes, filling linens, and taking out trash. |
