How do i become a certified nursing assistant (CNA)??? |
i want to be a certified nursing assistant and work in a nursing home. how would i go about obtaining my CNA license? how long would it take? and how much would it cost? Community or technical college usually offer CNA program, i'm going to apply for the program soon. It's usually about 2 months (at least it's true for the one i'm applying to), and it's about $350 for tuition, another $100 for books, and also $100 for exam fee. So i would say you are looking at around $600. But CNA doesn't make much at all, i'm doing it because i want to see if i like being a nurse or not, it's kinda like an entry leve thing to do...you know...in the midwest, CNA probably only makes $11-$12 an hour.... good luck!! The nursing home I work for provides a free CNA program while you work there. Although the pay is BELOW $11-$12 an hour. This is in MO. CNA's are very much in demand now days. Report It TECH. COLLEGE 2 YEAR DEGREE It depends on your state. In the state I am in it is a six week program. You don't have to have a high school degree and probably don't even have to speak much English. Look into any Community College. Also, check with a nursing home, if you go to work for them they may help you fund your education http://allnurses.com/ is where you can go to get some info on your subject i know some about a cna because my cousins going to school to become one |
