Nursing assistant question help !!!? |
what kind of classes do i need to take to be a nursing assistant ... how long does it take to get my license .... if you have any recommendations in any other careers please help me out it will help me out Depends on what state you live in. Nursing assistants are governed by the department of health. Most classes are about a month to 2 months. Call around to different nursing homes, a lot of them offer the classes for free if you will work there. Try that before you pay for it. After you take the class you have to take a test to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. I highly recommend becoming a nurse. But, work as an aide first, so that you know what it is like when you become a nurse. There are a lot of nurses that have never worked as an aide, and are horrible. The experience of working as an aide then going to school for nursing will help you with your program. If you work with good nurses, you can learn a lot, and that will be very helpful for school. You can make good money working for a nursing agency, but you aren't going to always go to the same facility, and you won't always be guaranteed hours. Good luck Nursing assistant course are from 6 week to 6 months You can take a CNA course, it usually takes 6 weeks, and at the end you will have to take boards, to become a certified nursing assistant. Its super easy but the job is hard and the pay is low. If I were you just do it and commit the next four years to nursing school and become a RN. Depending on the state the pay is great. Some programs can be as short as a month, others could take up to a year. They are typically offered by community colleges & places like the Red Cross. By the way, after passing the exam, you are certified, but not licensed. To the best of my knowledge,no state requires licenses for nursing assistants. |
