So I need help deciding a major?

I think I want to do Marketing but what kind of jobs or money can i get with a bachelors in marketing..then i was thinking about psychology but i talked to lots of people n they say it's not a good idea and with a bachelor's in psychology isn't gonna get me a great paying jobs??.. Someone please help me..i want to do something where I can make good money and also have a room where I can get ahead. Does anyone know any good majors that pays really well besides a doctor or a nurse or pharmacy???

Pursue your passions. If you are interested in Marketing, then I think there are a lot of jobs available. Every company in the country needs advertising professionals and marketers to help them promote their products and services. A degree in Marketing is a valuable degree--if you are interested in marketing.
Psychologists find that degrees in Psychology are VERY useful! If you want to be a Psychologist, or go into social work, then study Psychology.
If you are mostly driven by money and job opportunity, then visit this official government site:

The Occupational Outlook Handbook tells you hundreds of different job possibilities and:

the training and education needed
earnings
expected job prospects
what workers do on the job
working conditions

Whatever you decide, make sure it is work that you will enjoy. NOBODY lives a rich life spending 1/3 of their time doing a job they hate.

You don't have to declare a major right away. Most people end up changing their minds once they start college. It's very common. Begin with your general education requirements. Get a feel for what's out there. Volunteer in places where you might be interested in finding a job. Then decide. Part of going to college is finding out what you want to do. Good luck!

I agree that a B.S. in psychology is kind of useless. At least a master's defgree is required to get most decent jobs in the field.

Try these websites:

I think you should look at the classes you've taken and decide what you enjoy. There are good jobs for any major you decide on.

It is true psychology majors usually don't make a lot, but that's mostly because those interested in psychology are also interesting in careers like teaching, social work, and, counseling, which don't pay a lot.

The highest paid majors are usually engineering, chemistry, computer science, and business management, but I think it depends on the person.
