Whats the difference between a CNA, LVN, RN?

i know people who have gone into CNA programs and worked their way up...
what the difference between those programs and getting a BSN (bachelors of science in nursing)?

CNA is a Certified Nursing Assistant. You do the grunt work and you are not a nurse

LPN is a Licensed Practical Nurse. Education for this takes very little time, but you're not paid as well, and you'll most likely work in a nursing home.

ASN or ADN: This is an RN (Registered nurse) with an associate's degree. It takes 2-3 years to complete. You make good money when you are finished and you have direct patient care in hospital and doctor's office settings.

BSN: This is an RN with a bachelor's degree. With this degree, you can get into more advanced nursing and go into management.

a CNA doesn't require much training, you can learn on the job, with most companies, you'll be giving baths, help with feeding etc. training usually last a few weeks, and may be required in some states, to become a LVN, or LPN

a LVN (or LPN) requires a year of training at a trade school or community college, you will be licensed, you can take vitals, provide bedside care, work at a hospital, in a nursing home, you would supervise CNA's, or you can work in a doctor's office, and can work as a medical assistant, but make more money.

An RN of course is the highest level requiring a degree could take about 3 or 4 years to complete.

CNA: Certified Nurse Assistant
LPN: Licensed Practice Nurse
RN: Registered Nurse
BSN Degree is required to become a Registered Nurse.
