Start as an rt but want to go for an rn?

i was thinking of getting an aa degree in respiratory care
now eventually im going to want a bachelors degree
i was wondering with a aa in respiratory care
could i go for a bachelors in nursing

my ultimate goal is the be a midwive and deliver babies

but i am very interested in respiratory therapy with helping people breathe and all

so basically its like this if i get my aa in resp care can i persue a bsn sometime down the line

You can do that, but you would have to start almost completely over with either another associates degree, or start taking pre-requisites for a BSN program. I would just go straight for the RN or BSN program. Respiratory therapists and nurses have different duties, so you really will take just as long to become a nurse as someone who doesn't have a health related degree. After a BSN program, you would have to get a master's in nursing to become a midwife.
