Are there nurses out there who have successfully changed careers? |
I'm considering a career change from Business (I work in a bank) to Nursing. I have a bachelor's in Business and have been working for 10 years. I've reached a dead end and I'm looking for a change. I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who was in my situation, and have successfully transferred into the Nursing field. Anyone? Please? I don't know anyone who's done that, but I think a good option would be to look for a job as a nurse administrator. You would still retain your nursing knowledge, but you would be using administrative, business, office skills, too. Nurses are needed everywhere, at nursing homes to run the whole operation, in home health agencies, in insurance companies...you have a plethora of options. I made a career change from 25 years in office mgmt. to physical therapist assistant (at the age of 50). I was the outstanding student in my class and the only one of 28 students to have a job when we graduated. It's all about giving your best to whatever you do. Best of luck! |
