I failed to finish my incompletes 2 semesters in a row in the nursing program. What do i do?

I was a nursing student trying to finish my bachelors. I started the nursing program on a bad note. My father was sick and had to quit his job. It really stressed my family out a lot. Out of the 3 classes. I was able to finish one of the incompletes over the summer. I couldn't do 2 of the incompletes over. My father died of cancer. We took him out of the state for treatment. I met up with my dean of nursing today. I had an issue with my professor for those 2 classes. I had to speak to the academic committee for her to agree to take my incompletes over. When my dad was getting more sick, I just stopped going to class and didnt notify anyone. The dean told me today that she doesnt blame my professor and that i was irresponsbile and that she is not going to support me..She thinks my story doesnt match up with when she was asking me for certain dates. I thought my professor probably wasnt going to give me an extension on the incompletes so I stopped going..How can I fix this situation

This is tough. You're facing an uphill battle.

First of all. You were irresponsible. Very. This is not a good sign for someone who's going to have people's lives in her hands.

So, you're going to have to own up to it and show that you won't let this ever happen again. You're likely going to have to put on a very believable speech to the dean.

Since she doesn't believe your story, you're going to have to start gathering paperwork. Get hospital records and create a timeline.

If you go to her with a well documented package to support your father's illness, you have a shot to explain that this was a very hard time for your family which led you to make some poor decisions. However, you're past this, dedicated to completing your nursing degree, and would like another chance.
