What can i do with a bachelors in nursing and a minor is psychology?

i going to be a nurse, and i'm wondering if it would benefit me to get a minor in psychology

There are so many options for nurses nowadays! with psychology as a minor perhaps you might like psychiatric nursing or working with substance abuse or handicapped individuals. psychology is always a good secondary because it can be useful in so many ways. Good Luck!

It's always good to have knowledge in psych. You might be able to identify somebody who is depressed and get them help, while someone else might not.

Regarding careers, I don't think you can be a psychiatric nurse without additional training.

Good question! I majored in Psychology with a bachelors degree and I finally decided to persue my true passion which is nursing, and I'm trying to get into nursing school. A minor in psychology would be helpful, especially if you want to work in a psychiatric setting. Even if you don't, psychology really helps in your interactions with others--co-workers, bosses, patients and families. It makes you much more insightful and empathetic. It also helps you deal with the stress inherent in the nursing profession regardless of which field you chose. Go for it.
