TOO SKINNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help please?

Im 28 nearly 29 and Im sick to death of people telling me i need to eat a good meat pudding!!! All my friends that know me well know i eat like a horse. I love my food and always have. Im havent got anarextia and i DONT chuck my food up afterwards. I eat normal food sometimes be it the bad stuff and sometimes the good stuff. I enjoy it all. Even my doctor/nurse tell me i should put on a few more calories but the simple term is I CANT!!!!!

Im 5 foot 6 and acording to my height and age im underweight. The MOST ive ever weighed is 8 stone and that was for about a day lol. Im now and usually between 6 n half to 7 stone. Im very active as this comes with my career. My GP said i may have an overactive Throid and a high metablosium. There are pills i can take or have an opertation but i dont want either of these.

Im healthy and very raely have any problems and hardly ever get a cold.

My arms are skinny and so too are my legs and i hate this about me. CAN ANYONE HELP ME???

I had the same problem ALL my life. I am 5.6 ft. and always weighed max. 45 kg's!

Firstly, I had my thyroid checked, and was put on Eltroxin for it. This def. helped with my weight, as it was under-active (strangely enough) Also, do you smoke??? If you do, this is a HUGE factor in weight gain. STOP smoking. I picked up 30 kg's in 3 months! OK, so I had to lose some of it again, but I now look GOOD. Smoking subdues your appetite.

Eat alot of fruit. Yoghurt's and starch (Potatoes, rice, bread) Eating junk food (hamburgers etc.) will not help you! Eat yoghurt's or cereal in the morning, at least 2 / 3 fruits during the day (not more than 2 bananas a week - it clogs you up!!) and if possible a potato or / and some veg at lunch time. Then eat a full meal at supper time. (between 5 - 7pm) Snack in-between if you must, but if you eat like this, you won't need in-between snacks. There really is light at the end of the tunnel. If you wanna contact me for more info - feel free!

Stone? Convert that to Pounds, and maybe I can help ya.

EAT EAT EAT AND EAT AFTER YOU EAT THAN SLEEP SLEEP SLEEP EAT THAN SLEEP GUARANTEE YOU WILL GAIN SOME WEIGHT

tell people to shut up. there's nothing wrong with you, just people's perception. if it's a medical problem, then just be happy you don't have a medical problem that's making you overweight.
just say: "yes, i'm skinny. and i can fit into whatever jeans i want." lol just embrace yourself and don't worry about what other people think.

eat loads of shite food. drink loads of beer. and dont do any exercise.

why not take the pills then if you are that bothered about it, I would presume they are safe if your doctor has suggested them, if I was that desperate I would take the pills.

First of all, you shouldn't worry about what other people think of you. If you think you are perfectly happy with your weight it doesn't matter what they think. if you doctor is telling you that you need to put on some weight for health reasons, then maybe you should. Your doctor gave you some suggestions, maybe you should just try the pills out. Ask about the side effects though, and the long term affects...

Try drinking malts.

hey don't get yourself in a panick huney your nataurally skinny by the sounds of it don't be afraid to treat yourself once in a while and if your worried keep a food and exercise diary and show your doc good luck

I don't see your problem. You say you're happy with your weight and don't want to take pills to put on weight yet you complain about your arms and legs. You can't have it both ways. Either you put weight on carefully whilst doing an excercise programme based around your arms and legs or you stay the way you are. You obviously have issues that need addressing and you should look a little closer to home rather than to a bunch of strangers on a website for the anwsers.

does it really matter what people think, if all they are going to do is tell you negative things all the time dont take any notice, you should be happy with who you are, balls to what people say, surround yourself with people who give you compliments not put downs,SMILE.LOL

If you are eating healthily ( with a little junk thrown in for good measure) and getting plenty of excercise then there is not a lot else you can do, be happy being you, I'm sure you are gorgeous. If it makes you feel any better I am at the other end of the spectrum as I have an underactive thyroid. All weekend I have friends telling me I don't eat much. They don't but may as well finish the sentence with "considering how big you are"!
They don't mean any harm, but like you it really affects the way I feel about myself.
Good luck and happy body image!xxx

Welcome to the club. I'm in the same boat as you are.
Stop and think if you were overweight and wanted to lose and couldn't.

I have a friend who is exactly like you...eats pies, chips, crisps...never gains weight...she's 5ft 10"...around 8 stone...just the way she is...cant do anything about it...unless you do weights or something to build up your muscles. Love yourself...x

i wish i had that problem

dont just become lazy and eat junk food cuz that makes u feel gross. i suggest eating more foods with GOOD fat like meats and peanut butter. and if u dont like looking so skinny try to build some muscle by lifting weights or even just doing the motions until u feel a slight burn or tingle. do this every other day instead of every day because it just breaks down ur muscle instead of building it up.
p.s. i wish i had ur problem

I don't know, i have the same problem. I'm 5'1 and i weigh around 110 pounds. I have thyroid disease and i'm on medication. My weight goes up and down all the time. Oh and i forgot to mention that i am 25 . Yea i am small for my age but i can't help it. Maybe try to get on a womens daily vitamin and drink plenty of milk. Hope this helps.

Talk to your doctor, and ask her what you can do to gain weight if it is a BIG problem. Also, you might have been born like that. Some people have faster metabolisms than others, and can't do anything about it. Good Luck! =)

You're between 85 and 100 LBS, OK so what?
But I question that Dr or GP, he was of little help.
I was like you, but as a guy a little heavier 130 never over 140.
Until my by-pass and they socked me with antibiotics.
With in 3 months I gained 20 LBS and Now 2yrs, I'm 160+
as long as YOU think your healthy, be at peace with your self.
I know 'I' would enjoy your body. I would love to take you dancing. I could easly sweep you off your feet.

As long as you are healthy and eating well I dont see a problem. If it bothers you take the pills for a while and give it a go....;

you are under weight for your height you should be between 9 and half and 10 but if you happy and healthy then there should be no problem but keep an eye on it dont go to much lower it will start to effect your health

There are 2 issues here, people who are skinny commonly have high BMR, basal metabolic rate, that means there body burns off calories real fast. that's just way your body is and you cant do much about it. If its thyroid problems, mainly its overactive thyroid then simple blood test can exclude thyroid problems, if its overactive then your GP can prescribe medication to slow it down, Only good news about having thyroid problem is that you are entitled to free NHS prescriptions for all medications, small benefit for people who pay for their prescriptions in UK. If problems is under nutrition or malnutrition then simply start eating more

No. You are what you are. The nearer the bone, the sweeter the meat. So long as you are eating then that's all that matters. I have been skinny all my life and won't change now.

im sick of skinny women getting bad press in the media as being anorexic and bulimic, gawd dont people realise that women come in all shapes and sizes and if someone is skinny it doesnt nessicarilly mean they have an eating disorder. personally if i was u i would revel in it, what i would give to eat what i wanted an not put on an ounce!!!!

Please just be happy with the way you are! There are so many 'ideals' these days! Could you ask someone out for an eating contest and embarrass them? (and get your tea for notthing at the same time?). I would just recommend some exercise with some small weighths to bring out some muscle definition on your arms and legs. I am sure loads of guys find you really attractive if you are slim!!! If you don't have a partner, go get 'um!

you have to take the pills or have the operation or you wont put on weight and you'll always be skinny. its as simple as that.
pills aint that bad. i take some everyday to stop me being in pain. its worth it

eat a lot of food and do exercise, which help you.
