FMLA - If the doctors states that it is a serious health condition ... is that sufficient ? |
When someone has a serious health condition ... why should you have to share more with your nurses / who filter it to your bosses and then it circulates among your co workers. It's almost career suicide to share information with anyone when you really are sick. You must be percieved as healthy / contributing 200 percent at all times. Your boss has no rights to tell anyone about your condition to coworkers or customers. You can take legal action against him and the company. Your information is guarded under the FMLA and if it is exposed to fellow employees by your boss then your boss can be sued. They have no right to expose your medical condition. The doctor's nurse can give a limited amount of info to the employer. Actually if you have an HR department it should be going trough them and they relay only the limitations to your boss that the doctor has recommended. If they are breaking this policy I would most defiantly report it. |
