Cops, where are you?

He he....Was wondering if there were any of you fellow 5-0's that considered a second career? Or has being a police officer been the only thing you plan on doing?

I was a cop for a short period. My old calling....nursing.....called me back....however, I can't tell you how much being a cop has helped with being a nurse! Just dealing with people in general....as well as restraining the crazies.

Any takers to this question???

i originally wanted to be a high school english teacher...then i decided i wanted to be active.

Considered yes, but really, where would I ever find this much variety..........

AWWWWWW...another lawbreaker who can't accept responsibility for their actions and blames the cops for all of their problems.

After i retired, I became a "Security Consultant" then the Vice President of a Security Company. A lot of cops do this when they retire. I did this for a couple years then just completely retired.

I found your question interesting because my oldest son, a Registered Nurse (and a good one) is trying to get into law enforcement, even though it means about a $30,000 cut in pay.

Good choice you made in changing careers.
As a nurse you can help people.
As a police officer (as many do ) you Will be abusing you powerful position.

Yes....when I retire I want to be the human cannonball at the circus

I want to retire and own my own restaurant. i went to culinary school before chenging over to law enforcement

There has to be a certain level of uncaring and evil to be a cop, I'm glad you discovered the GOOD in you, and returned to nursing, where you CAN actually help people!
