Thinking about going into the medical field...?

But I don't want to be a doctor, nurse or surgeon. What other careers are available in the medical field where I can work in a hospital?

Try contacting your local hospital and finding out if they have a program where you could spend a day with someone from each health care profession. I think that it would be really beneficial. If they don't have a program try contacting each department individually (respiratory, radiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, etc..). Most departments are very willing to have you come to follow someone around so that you can learn a bit more about their profession.

God Bless

Some ideas are:
physical therapy
occupational therapy
some kind of technician
etc.

Nurses aide
medical assistant
x-ray
Medical billing

there really are a ton of different careers. u can go into radiology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy assistant, sports medicine. your best bet is to look in schools in your area and see what programs they have to offer, than usually you can shadow someone for a day to see if you would like what they are doing. don't set your heart on one thing, as you start in one field you may find another more interesting. good luck. don't forget you can also try emergency medicine. try your local ambulance service, often times they will pay for your training etc.

become a pharmacist

1) you will still get to work in the hospital by becoming a clinical pharmacist

2) it take sonly 3-4 years after college and that is it!

3) you will come out making 100-150k or more

4) most jobs are 9-5
