Singing Career?

Ok here is the thing guys i want to be another Beyonce just known as me. My mom thinks i should just stick with becoming a neo/natal nurse. (i think that is how u spell it). Well i have it all planned out i will go on American Idol in 2 more years. I will just start from there. I can sing like really good. I get complements from all my friends and family members. My friends are very honest and they wont lie to me. So i know i have what it takes to be the next R &B singer. My question is what should i stick with my dreams or what my mom says!!!!!!

Oh yea im only 14 but im in a school where i become a grad. in 2 years im in the 9th grade doing 10th grade work

Here's the thing. Education is important, but so is your dreams. I think you should still stay in school, but on the weekends try to see if you can get a gig at some small place in your town. See other people's reactions, and see if they agree with you. If they do, go out for American Idol [F.Y.I will be watching you sing if you do] if they don't still try American Idol [If you aren't afraid of Simon] but always do your schooling in case singing doesn't work out. If you don't make it, you have school to fall back on, if you do, you do. Just remember. EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! So don't miss school for gigs.

Is there some reason you can't do both? Carrie Underwood was in college and has now graduated. Good luck.

you can pursue your dreams while working on another career at the same time. make plans to have a back up career, because you never know what could happen. yes, you may be a great singer, but what would happen if (for some reason) you would need to have throat surgery and you weren't able to sing for a long time. you will need something to do to support yourself.

I have no idea how old are you but I would suggest you follow your dreams. If all works well, congratulations! If not, you can always go back to your nursing job. At least you've been there and done it and live with no regrets for not trying.

stick to your dreams

Start off my getting singing lessons, and practice everyday. Get a lot of experience before you do American Idol, that way you have a guarantee to get it. Along with all this, still go on to university, just as a back up plan. University will also give you the opportunity to study music, if you are truly passionate about music, you can still sing without being a superstar.

Follow your dreams, but always leave yourself an out. Keep studying hard and practice your singing and performing whenever you get a chance. School and practicality should come first and then you can find time to pursue your passions. If you reverse that order you may find yourself stuck wondering what happened to your life should things not work out as a singer. Good luck and stay focused on what is truly important in life. It is perfectly ok to work hard all day long and go home to your family in the evening.

You can do both of them if you want to.

Can you do both? Will it hurt to go on American Idol to see if you have what they are looking for? I think you can still get a nurses degree after trying out for American Idol? I'm not saying you would not win but just in case what would it do, set you back a year at the most? You have to chase the dream or you'll regret it for the rest of your life...

well......you forgot to mention if your even a good singer...... I guess you should try both. Its probaly best to have a plan B.

I think you should pursue your dreams. It's not about what your mom says, but what you want to be. Just have a backup pln just in case things don't work out.
