Will a misedemeanor hurt my nursing career?

Will a misedemeanor hurt my nursing career?
i have a misedemanor on my records is't called "crim mis>1500"
1. does any one who what that mean.
2. can this hold me up from getting my nursing liscenses.
the crime happened 3 years ago

All i did was took my friend to her boyfriend house they got in a fight she keyed his car and broke out his car windows. all i did was take her there. actually it's called crim mischief i took the plead bargain because i was not pleading guilty to a conspiracy charge, all i did was pay a fine

same thing happened to me. i didn't worry about it b/c it had nothing to do with nursing. plus, it happened 5 years prior to me applying to RN school. read what it says on the licensing form/agreement: if it asks for anything within the last 5 years, report it; if anything happened more than 5 years ago, why should you put it down? The key words are "within the last 5 years." yours may have a different time-frame. look at it closely and put down only what they ask for.

Expect a background check when applying to a hospital, or just about anywhere else. Most states require the check. A background check will spit out any arrests you had in the past. I'm not sure how far back. If you were arrested, it will show up. If you were not arrested, nothing should appear on the check. What I would do is go pay for a background check yourself, they're like $20-40 and see what's there. Check out the Yellow Pages and you can find out where to go. If it's clean, then your indiscretion is between you and whoever you want to tell. If something does show up, I recommend being up front and honest that something will show up on the background check during your interview process.

As far as what that code means, there is no uniform coding for a misdemeanor. That could mean anything. You should have an idea what this is I would think! G'luck.

I take it .. criminal mischief or either a criminal misedemanor. I am not sure but I am going to school right now to be a nurse. I just got my CNA and they did a back ground check. I have a simple battery and it came back okay. I thought for sure I was goign to be turned down but they did not. :) Good Luck

Laws differ in diferent countries. So from where do you hail?
I have an aunt a nurse a sister a nurse and a daughter who is doing her best to fail in being a nurse without even trying to study, God Bless Her. However, when you are interviewed in Ireland the look at your criminal recored on the basis of how it is treated with nursing. But it depend on what the criminal basis is. Wish to tell. Was it endagerment, cocaine, Be specific and we'll give you a reply by 13.00 today. When daughter home. She knows all and so does aunt and great aunt.

it depends on what state and who is doing it. after that, if anything shows, it will depend on the human resource office that does the hiring. some want to cut you a break and give you another start, some want to keep you down even if you only missed the toilet when you peed.
