How long does it take to renew Certification Nursing Certificate working in New York City?

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) I've worked for over 20 years. In such time the nursing facility I worked for has always renewed my nursing certification. Due to a change in managment, and failure to renew the certifications in a timley manner, many CNA have been laid off until renewl process is completed.

Because of such failure of behalf of the facility is there anything I could do to expedite such process by contacting the NY State, also being that informtion was given months in advance showing when our certifications would expire is their leagal action that could be taken against the facility?

Check the website link below, it is a series of phone numbers for the New York State Department of Health. There may be someone in one of their departments that will help you out with your CNA certificate renewal.
