Had my suspected warts examined by the local clinic's nurse. She gave me a clean diaganostic. Stop worrying?

I was stressing SO badly about these tiny red bumps i had on the base of my penis. I was so sure of myself that i had genital warts and was really depressed about. so i finally went to the clinic and told her what my worries were and she examined them and said that she doesnt think that they are genital warts or herpes for that matter. I was so relieved but at the same time paranoid that she might of been wrong, so she got a second nurse's opinion and she said the same thing, telling me that what i have definitely isnt any type of STD. So should i stop worrying and take in what they said? not to sound sexist but i think i wouldve felt better about it if a fellow man did the diagnostic. but anyways, what else could they be then?

sounds like rash from moisture, but a good question is do you shave down there? could be razor bumps

Stop worrying - for real! Two nurses are quite enough for me. They do a large portion of a doctor's case load and have almost as much clinical knowledge a the the doctors do. Relax

People make mistakes, sure, but being of the same sex as the patient doesn't guarantee correct diagnosis! Do you have some where to get a second opinion? Another clinic? A dermatologist is treating my friend's v. warts. If you can afford it, you could have an Internal Med doc ot dermatologist check it. ONe key is how long are they lasting? Warts, untreated, are semi-permanent, but may eventually go away. Even once treated, they tend to recur. Could be you are having an allergic reaction to something the woman is using or applying. If you don't have warts, this is the time to take responsibility for yourself so you don't get them, or something that will forever be in your life, like herpes. Or something worse.Public Health clinics should have literature with pictures so you can see if pictures match what you look like. There is lots of info on line. Good luck.

Stop talking to nurses and see a real Doctor already..... forsure worry if they took no test or did not draw blood it can still be anything! go go go now......A real doctor!
