Is nursing a tough major?

planning to go to a county college and theres a 3 years degree program for bachelor...
i just want to know how hard these courses are from experienced nurses or someone who have taken these courses?

Well, it's all very subjective. I didn't think nursing school was necessarily hard as far as the content goes, what's hard is the amount of work you have to do in a short amount of time.

I have not heard of a 3 year BSN program, but considering a BSN is usually 4 years worth of full-time work, I would have to wonder about how hard this particular program might be. I started off in a 2 year associates degree program, but I took 3 years because I took all my pre-reqs and general education courses prior to starting the nursing courses. It was much easier to manage it that way - I don't know how other people could take those non-nursing courses along with the core, way too much work!

It doesn't take a genius to pass nursing school, in fact, I'm surprised at some of the people who manage to graduate to be honest. It just takes a hard worker and you can't procrastinate with your assignments and chapter readings. If you can stay on top of your homework, you'll do just fine.

And remember that your instructors are a valuable resource for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions - you are the student and they are there to teach.

Good luck!

G --- if you did not like high school and did not score A + B you probable will not get into nursing school... It is not a matter of how hard the classes are -- it your qualifications to be allowed to enter the program. Nurse college is in a lot of demand and they will pick the top persons...

If you really want to be a nurse you shouldn't worry about if it's going to be hard or not. It's not easy, that's for sure. The nursing program is very hard, time consuming, and overwhelming, but it's awesome. You learn soooo much and get to see things in clinicals that most people will never see.
