I am planning on going back to school for phlebotomy and I might get a nursing assistant certificate I have ?s

I am wondering how long it takes to get a nursing assistant certificate? For anyone that is a phlebotomist, how do you like it and was the scholoing hard? It sounds very interesting when I was reading about it and it is offered at the college about 5 miles from my house, I really want to go back to school, I had my first child at 19 and then we got pregnant again and I had twin boys at 21, so I think it is a good time for me to go back to school I am only 24, and my husband and I have decided our family is complete. Thanks!

I'm 24 too and a CNA.

I've seen CNA classes range from 2 weeks to 12 weeks. Mine was 12 weeks, going 4 hours a day 4 days a week. 40 of those hours were spent in clinicals in a nursing home. Community College classes generally take longer, but cost less. Some private companies offer CNA classes that cost more and take less time. There are even some health care places that offer CNA classes for free- usually under the condition you will work for them after. It is NOT hard. Very common sense stuff. The hardest part for most people is taking a manual blood pressure.

The only Phlebotomy training in my area cost $700 and takes 8 weeks. That is a little too much money for me, although I think I would like the job more than CNA.

i got my na certificate at 44 you are never too late.
