Any help would be appreciated....about college?

I am a GED holder and am looking to enter nursing..I am 21 yrs. old. I need to know about how long it will take me in a community college(WC3, Detroit, MI) from the very start. I know I have to take prerequisite courses but is that all I need or do i have to take general courses as well? And are you able to take the courses needed to graduate consecutively, meaning win, spri, fall, and sum or can you only take them twice a year?....Thanks

You can take classes in all sememsters. Most college students choose to just go fall and spring to get a break. You are more than welcome to go to school all year round.

My mom got her nursing degree (RN) at a community college with only her associates. It took her four years this was only because she had to work full time with two kids. It all depends on your course load.

Now most colleges require you take general education courses. I have a bachelor's degree. I had to do about 5 semesters of general education courses which is the first 2 1/2 years of my five years at the university (I only went fall and spring, except for a couple classes during the summer one summer. I could have cut it to four if I went all year round). General education courses are like math, science, etc. Being that you are only getting an associates it will most likely only be a semester or two of general education. Prerequisits are generally tied into your general education. Like you'll have to take anatomy for a prereq and it will count towards you science credit for general education, or you have to take statistics for a prereq but it will count towards your math general education credits.
