20 and not in college yet? |
hi im really depressed i live at home with parents and they dont want me to pay rent they just want me to go do a 12mth nursing program and yes i want that too but i have to wait 1 year for it to start.......my whole family complaints that i dont do anything around the house and with my life but i really am trying im so depressed i dont have any friends to talk to...so i geuss my question is ....is there anyone else whos 20+ and not in college yet...and still living with parents without paying rent......??? also dont get me wrong i have a part time job and i asked to pay rent to parents but they said its ok,,just pay for college I know how you feel. I've been suffering from depression for years, and what makes it worse is that I don't hardly have any friends to talk to either. The three I do have never seem to be around when I need them the most. Depression does make it hard to be motivated to do anything, and if your family knows about your depression they should understand this and not be complaining about what you do or don't do. Instead, they should be trying to help you get treatment. Depression is usually caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and there are prescriptions that can treat this imbalance and improve your overall mental well-being. You should really consider talking to your doctor about it. For some reason a lot of people seem to be embarrassed about sharing their problems, especially when it comes to mental health, but doctors are there to help you feel better. It's not a big deal. You're already working, so I don't know why they're complaining. When the time comes, just study hard for your nursing program, and prove to them you can be independent. check this link its good |
