D Grade. Will This Affect Nursing Program Chances?

Okay, I'm a freshman at a community college. I'm not a bad student, but I'm not the brightest bulb either. I've gotten a D in one of my classes as a final grade (Child Development) in my first semester. In this current semester, I'm taking a Biology class that requires a Lab Class (don't know what that's for). I got a B in my main lecture Biology class, but I think I'll be getting a D for the lab class (lab counts as 1 unit). Will these two D's hurt my chances of getting into the nursing program? The program wants a 2.5 cumulative GPA for the science courses, and I have a lot of Biology classes to go.

I currently have a 3.2 GPA. Three A's, one B, and one D.

Nursing programs are difficult to get into, as they are very competitive and academically demanding. Nursing classes won't take anything lower than a C in anything; you wouldn't want a nurse who got a D in most of their classes in nursing school to examine you, would you?

If you are getting grades like that in all of your classes that would be needed/beneficial for nursing, find something else. It seems to me that science isn't your strength. Find a different field, one that you feel passionate about and is easier for you.
