Transfering from a community college, HELP!!?

Im gunna start off at a community college and are the general ed requirements the ONLY classes you need to take? Say I want to major in nursing or business. No problem right? So I would take the gen ed, and then transfer and start the nursing? How does it work im SO confused. Confused enough to enlist in the navy because I feel like I have no direction right now.

If you want to take the General Education classes at a community college, then take them, but make sure that the credits are transferrable to the college you want to attend.

When you apply to the college, they will ask you to send your transcript so they can evaluate it and see what you will get credit for in their institution.

It simple. Career counseling is a free service all CC's offer prospective students. Simply pick up the phone and make an appointment and you are on your way. Easy.

But to put you mind at rest the process is to sign up for a program that has a guaranteed admission to the program at a 4 year school - in your case nursing\business. That is pretty much a bog standard type path and bread and butter as far as CC courses go.

Thanks
Bill

talk to a counselor. community college is the way to go, don't join the navy!! Cheap tuition and you can typically transfer to a legit university as a junior.

You will definitely need to contact the school you want to attend.

The college should have an office of academic advisement. Schedule a meeting with one of the advisers and they will help you select the courses you need to take and recommend others that will aid or complement your future course of study at a four year institution.

first take your general ed requirements in a community college or state school. If you want to go to a UC, i don't know what state your in so i'll use california, then start at a community college. then try to go to an ivy-league school...stanford is a great school, but i think UC Davis is one of the best. Don't enlist in the navy right now, if it's something you really don't want to do, because they'll keep you in and there's no getting out. but i don't have much info about what state your in or i would be able to help you more. sorry i hope that semi answers your question.
